In close cooperation with the Federal Office for Meteorology and Climatology (MeteoSwiss) the Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN) has developed a concept for a web portal for climate services. In total, eight Federal Offices are involved and speak with one official voice.

The web portal collects data and information concerning climate change as well asservices for a target-oriented adaption to the effects of climate change.

The FOEN is responsible for the adaptation part of the web portal. That part of the portal aims to support cantons, municipalities and the private sector with advice and information services to enable them to fulfil their role with respect to climate issues in the sector of climate adaptation. By raising public awareness, they can make an important contribution to sensitizing policy, the population and companies to climate-relevant issues and showing and implement them possibilities for action.

Through a survey we have compiled various user profiles so that the web portal contains the information that can help adapt to climate change in Switzerland.

We would like to show how we have implemented the results of the user survey in the web portal of Switzerland (www.klimadienstleistungen.ch) in the field of adaptation to climate change and what seems important to us. An exchange of experiences, networking and a dialogue with other countries in this topic seems very helpful to us.
