Guidelines for session submissions

The following guidelines are provided to assist you to submit your abstract. All session submissions should link to one of the conference themes.

Please follow the instructions when completing the abstract form and please be aware of the word limits.

Abstracts can only be submitted online and in English.

Accepted sessions will be removed from the programme if all presenting authors are not registered and paid by 15 January 2019.

Begin by filling in the information about the authors, indicating first author, co-authors (if applicable) and presenter.

Enter the title and select the theme, subtheme (maximum of 3) and format of your submission (science session or science-practice session). Add any relevant and applicable keywords (max. of 5).

Please opt for one of the session types available at ECCA 2019:

  • Science sessions – presenting advances in scientific methods, tools and findings relevant to climate adaptation and/or disaster risk reduction; or
  • Science-practice sessions – to enhance engagement and learning between science and practice including relevant connections with policy and society.

Only the lead session organiser should submit the session proposal and must enter information about the target audience, session format and contributing authors abstracts. Please note that an outline of the contributions is sufficient at this submission stage if detailed abstracts are not yet available. Indicate if it is a business / service-oriented session.
